Transforming Disability Into Ability
We provide education, training, employment and care for mentally handicapped children and adults
About Us
Our journey of compassion and hope
The Selangor and Federal Territory Association for The Mentally Handicapped (SAMH) was established in 1964 as a non-profit voluntary organization. It was initiated by a group of concerned parents and voluntary workers under the sponsorship of the then Rotary Club of Klang and Port Swettenham.
A transformational journey towards bringing hope and compassion to the world.

SAMH Projects /Donation Campaigns
To help us sustain during this difficult phase, we have also started a few campaigns to help support our costs.

SAHM Flag-Day Campaign
This is an annual campaign which SAMH has been organising for many years. With technology and given the pandemic situation, SAHM has now extended its flag day appeal on our website. If you want to contribute to a good cause, do us a favour!

ProjectLIGHT
This is a campaign to raise funds to help us cover our utilities expenses of our SAHM centres. Annually our total utilities expenses for SAHM cost approximately RM 37,500

ProjectPAY
Many of our teachers are very dedicated to serve the needs of the mentally handicapped and have served for many years. Quite a number are also the sole breadwinners for their families and fall in the B40 group. With the substantial cuts in government funding, SAHM has struggled to stay afloat and covering payroll has been a major worry. Thus, SAHM needs financial assistance to help us cover our operational costs.

ProjectHALL
Project HALL is a donation drive to collect funds for the upgrade and refurbishment of all SAHM Wisma Harapan multi-purpose hall used by all age-groups for events, indoor games/exercise sessions, shows, games and other purposes. Currently the room's AV system, and other fixtures and fittings are old and need upgrading/replacement. All contribution will go towards renovation work and purchase of new fixtures and fittings for the multipurpose hall.
